S&S is leading the way on federal policy regarding autonomous vehicles. Through our work with Transportation Research Center (TRC), we have developed strong working relationships with Ohio’s top officials within the Governor’s office, the Speaker of the House and the Senate President as well as with the Ohio Department of Transportation. TRC is a key component of Smart Columbus, the U.S. DOT’s Smart City designee. S&S is the catalyst that led to TRC becoming a destination for members of Congress and U.S. DOT Secretary Elaine Chao to understand the future for autonomous vehicles. Through our efforts, TRC is becoming a fixture and household name in Washington D.C. as members of the House Committee of Transportation and Infrastructure, House Committee on Energy and Commerce, House Committee on Appropriations and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation have all requested audiences with TRC. S&S provides TRC with an inside look at the D.C. process as they move forward with an expansion of North America’s largest independent automotive proving grounds to become the World’s most integrated facility in addressing the needs of autonomous technologies.

S&S protected Sunoco Logistics’ (SXL) company image by managing public relations during the first 9 days of an 18,000 gallon oil release in a nature preserve. S&S worked directing with local township and county officials in Ohio to forge a positive relationship prior to land acquisition, surveying and constructing of the Mariner East 2 pipeline. This early outreach proved beneficial throughout the process. S&S also developed a community giving program for SXL that will continue for the foreseeable future.

S&S stopped a proposed Ohio law detrimental to the energy industry and replaced it with legislation that was hailed as some of the most effective oil and gas legislation in the country. S&S has continued that effort in Ohio as new regulations continue to be introduced that will negatively impact the oil and gas industry. S&S continues efforts with Halliburton in building relationships with lawmakers, agency officials and other key decision makers.S&S is a key component of a team that produced a communication strategy consisting of earned media, targeted digital advertising, and other direct marketing technologies to create public support for and influence legislators on key issues. Our work generated nearly 450,000 total impressions through internet pre-roll ads, 10,000 tele-forum participants, and 2,700 constituent calls to legislators.

Business Insider ranked the City of New Albany as “the best suburb in America” in 2015. Our firm has effectively advocated on behalf of the City in the areas of general taxation, home-rule, public safety, transportation, employment issues, as well as a variety of General Revenue Fund Capital Budget requests.

S&S are a key component in Ashland University’s effort to separate themselves from the hundreds of higher education institutions in Ohio. S&S provides government and public affairs services with a focus on Budget, Appropriations, Criminal Justice and confronting addiction. In addition, S&S develops strategy to elevate Ashland University status among state and federal lawmakers, agency officials and Ohio’s business community.
